The Placeit alternative that designs your posts from scratch.
Placeit is great at product mockups and quick logos, and its social posts start the same way: search the library, pick a template, swap in your text. Krumzi reads one sentence and designs the post itself, in your brand. A finished post in under 60 seconds, every element still editable.

A template library vs. a finished post.
Placeit details verified from placeit.net and its pricing page in November 2026. Spot something out of date? Tell us and we'll fix it.
If you're here, one of these probably sounds familiar.
Placeit's ratings are split. It holds a 4.2 on Capterra (16 reviews) and a 4.4 for its iPhone app, mostly for the mockups and how easy it is. On Trustpilot it's a 2.1 across 1,300+ reviews, and the recent one-star reviews there are mostly about billing. Here's what pushes people to look elsewhere.
Every post starts with a template hunt
Placeit's own tutorial lays out the steps: choose a template, then customize its fonts, colors, graphics and backgrounds. With thousands of templates to scroll, finding the right one is half the job, and one reviewer called the search and filters very poor.
The AI lives in the library
Placeit's AI shows up as AI-made mockup templates and an AI background remover. We couldn't find a way to describe a post and have Placeit design it. The design still starts with a template you pick.
Templates other people picked too
A big shared library means other shops and creators start from the same templates you do. Some reviewers also call the designs dated, cheesy or boring. Your post ends up looking like a Placeit template, because it is one.
PNG in, PNG out
Placeit's FAQ says mockups, design templates and logos download as PNG files, and videos as MP4. Need a PDF for the printer or a JPG for a client? That's another tool.
Built for merch first
Placeit's own tutorial opens with “thousands of merch-friendly templates”, and the library is organized around mockups, merch, gaming and music covers. Social posts are one shelf among many, not the job the tool is built around.
Your brand, one template at a time
Placeit's Brand Kit stores your logos, fonts and colors for the template editor. But every template starts in someone else's colors and type, so putting your brand on it is a step you repeat for each post, every week.
To be fair: Placeit is the place for mockups. Its library of t-shirt, mug, device and packaging mockups is huge, the logo maker is quick, and one subscription also covers video templates and stream graphics. Krumzi has no mockup generator and no logo maker. If you sell merch, keep Placeit for that. This page is for the people using it to make this week's posts.
Why people pick Krumzi over Placeit
Designed from scratch. Not picked from a library.
Placeit's social posts come from its template library: you pick one and customize what it offers. Krumzi has no template library. It decides the layout, palette, type and composition fresh for every brief, so the post looks like your brand, not like a template other shops picked too.

You describe it. Krumzi designs it.
In Placeit, a sale post means search, pick, retype, recolor, download. In Krumzi you type one sentence and a finished, on-brand post comes back in under 60 seconds. Want changes? Keep chatting. Bigger headline, darker background, use the orange from my logo.

On brand by default. Ready for the whole week.
Set up your logo, colors and fonts once, or let Brand Mind learn your style through a quick tap-through interview. Then plan the week: Post Ideas for what to say, Make variations for next week's version, and scheduling to Instagram and Facebook. Export PNG, JPG or PDF, and video on Pro and up.

Keep what works. Lose the busywork.
There's nothing to migrate. Keep Placeit for mockups and logos if you use them. Your first Krumzi post takes about a minute.
Bring your brand
Made your logo in Placeit? Upload the PNG. Add your colors and fonts once, or let Brand Mind learn your brand through a quick, tappable interview. It works even if you don't have a website.
Describe what you need
Type one sentence. Krumzi designs the first version from scratch, on your brand, in under 60 seconds. Keep chatting to refine anything.
Edit and export anywhere
Every element is editable. Export PNG, JPG, PDF, or video up to 4K. Your old Placeit downloads stay yours: Placeit says you keep access after you cancel.
Switching from Placeit, answered.
Yes, if social posts are what you use Placeit for. Placeit is built around its library: mockups, logos, design templates and video templates you customize. Krumzi is built for the weekly posts: you describe what you need and it makes the layout, type and color decisions itself, in your brand, in under 60 seconds. For product mockups and logos, Placeit is still the better tool.
A Placeit design starts as a template: you pick one from the library, then change the text, fonts, colors and graphics it offers. Krumzi has no template library. It builds the layout, typography, colors and composition from scratch for each brief, so two posts never start from the same file. Placeit's AI shows up as AI-made mockup templates and a background remover rather than a tool that designs the post for you.
Not as dedicated tools. Krumzi has no mockup generator and no logo maker, and Placeit is genuinely good at both. If you sell merch or need a quick logo, keep Placeit for that, upload the logo to Krumzi, and let Krumzi design the posts around it.
Yes, everything. Drag, resize and restyle any element, rewrite text, swap images, change colors, or ask for the change in the chat. You start from a finished design instead of a template, and every element stays editable.
Save your logo, colors and fonts once and Krumzi applies them to every design (Brand Kit, on Pro and up). Brand Mind goes further on every plan: it learns your style and steers every design to look and sound like you. If you post for several brands, each one keeps its own Brand Kit and Brand Mind.
Placeit has been part of Envato since 2018 and uses the same Envato login, but as of November 2026 it still sells its own subscription on placeit.net. Envato's own plans (Core, Plus and Ultimate, introduced in February 2026) don't list Placeit, so check which subscription you're paying for before you cancel anything.
Krumzi is a paid subscription, and Starter, Pro and Studio start with a 3-day free trial. You add a card, pay nothing today, and make your first posts with the plan you picked. Downloads carry a watermark until your plan starts on day 4, unless you cancel before then.
No. Plenty of people keep Placeit for product mockups, logos and stream graphics, and use Krumzi for their weekly social posts. They solve different problems. If you do cancel, Placeit says you keep access to what you've already downloaded, though it recommends saving your files first.
