Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. Create and download as many static QR codes as you need. There's no signup, watermark, subscription, or scan limit from Krumzi.
Do these QR codes expire?
The code itself has no expiry date. It stores your URL or text directly, so it doesn't depend on Krumzi to work. For a website code, the destination still needs to stay online and accessible.
Can I change the destination after downloading?
These are static QR codes. To change the encoded URL or text, make a new code and replace the old image. If you own the linked webpage, you can update that page's content without changing the code.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG works well in documents, presentations, and social posts. Choose 512, 1024, or 2048 pixels. SVG stays sharp at any size, making it a good choice for printed flyers, packaging, posters, and business cards.
Can I make a QR code for a menu, PDF, or social profile?
Yes. Paste the public URL of your menu, hosted PDF, or social profile into the Website field. This tool encodes the link, not the file itself. Check that visitors can open the destination without needing your login.
Why won't my QR code scan?
Use a dark code on a light, plain background, keep the clear border, and avoid stretching or cropping the image. Long links produce denser codes, so give them more space. Test the final printed size and the lighting where it will be used.
Is my URL or text uploaded anywhere?
QR generation and downloads happen locally in your browser. The generator doesn't send your encoded content to a server. These static codes don't include scan analytics or a Krumzi tracking redirect.
Can I use a transparent background?
Yes, both PNG and SVG support transparency. The preview shows transparency on white. Put the downloaded code on a plain, light surface and leave the clear border free of other design elements.
