ComparisonKrumzivsMjMidjourney

The Midjourney alternative that makes designs, not pictures.

Midjourney makes the most beautiful images in AI. It doesn't make posts. Krumzi designs the whole thing: real text in your fonts, your colors, a layout you can edit element by element. And when a design needs stunning imagery, Krumzi generates that too, right inside the design.

Why people leave Midjourney

If you're posting with it, one of these probably sounds familiar.

Nobody disputes Midjourney's image quality. The friction starts when the image needs to become a post. Here's what creators actually run into.

The output is pixels, not a design

Midjourney's web editor is real, but it edits by regenerating masked regions. There are no text objects, no fonts, no draggable elements. You can't nudge a headline two pixels left. You can only re-roll it.

Text still isn't dependable

V8.1 mostly spells correctly now, a real improvement. But reviewers report brand names, logos, and longer copy still coming back garbled, and even perfect text is baked in. Fixing a typo means regenerating the image.

Brand consistency is a workaround

Style and character references approximate a look, and a cottage industry of paid prompt guides exists to fake brand consistency. There's no brand kit: no exact hex colors, no your-actual-fonts, no logo placement.

Trial and error burns fast hours

Every attempt consumes GPU time that expires monthly, even on annual plans. The $10 plan covers roughly 200 fast images, and re-rolling your way to usable text eats them quickly.

Your drafts are public

On the Basic and Standard plans, everything you generate appears in Midjourney's public gallery. Client work and unannounced campaigns stay private only on Pro, at $60 a month.

It ends where your post begins

Aspect ratio is a prompt flag, not a format system. No platform sizes, no carousels, no captions. Even Midjourney roundups recommend finishing the actual deliverable in a design tool.

To be fair: for pure image quality, Midjourney is arguably the best money can buy, and V8.1 is fast. Plenty of Krumzi users love it. The difference is what happens after the image. If the image is your deliverable, keep Midjourney. If the post is, that's what Krumzi designs.

Three reasons people switch

Why people pick Krumzi over Midjourney

01Designs, not renders

A post has structure. Krumzi builds it.

A social post is a headline, a hierarchy, brand colors, a call to action, and imagery, arranged with intent. Midjourney gives you one flat render of all that. Krumzi builds each element separately, decides the layout for your brief, and hands you a design where everything is still an object you can change.

02One sentence in, design out

You describe it. Krumzi designs it.

No prompt engineering, no re-roll roulette, no fast hours ticking down. Type one sentence and a finished, on-brand design comes back in under 60 seconds. Not happy with it? Keep chatting. Bigger headline, darker background, use the orange from my logo.

03Your brand, remembered

On brand by default. Not by style reference.

Save your logo, colors, and fonts once, or let Brand Mind learn your style. Krumzi applies your actual brand to every design: your hex codes, your typefaces, your logo. Not an AI's approximation of them.

The honest verdict

Which one should you actually use?

Honestly, many people should use both. Here's the split.

Switch to Krumzi if you...

  • Your deliverable is a post, not a picture
  • You need real text on the design, in your fonts, spelled right
  • You're re-rolling images trying to get brand colors to match
  • You need platform sizes, carousels, or video, not just stills
  • Client work can't sit in a public gallery
  • You want the design decisions made for you, then editable

Stay with Midjourney if you...

  • The image itself is the deliverable and art direction is the job
  • You make concept art, worldbuilding, or hero imagery
  • You live in the community and its shared prompt culture
  • You pipe Midjourney renders into a design tool and love that flow
  • Aesthetic ceiling matters more than editability

Questions

Switching from Midjourney, answered.

Midjourney generates images: flat, beautiful, finished pixels. Krumzi generates designs: a layout of real text, shapes, and imagery that stays editable after generation. You can retype a headline, swap a color, or move an element, because they're objects, not pixels.

Yes. Attach any image to your brief and Krumzi's AI places it on the canvas as part of the design. A lot of people use exactly that flow: hero imagery from Midjourney, the actual post built in Krumzi.

Yes. AI image generation is built into the designer, so when a design needs imagery, the AI generates it in place, sized and positioned for the layout. You can also use stock photos or upload your own.

For pure artistic image generation, Midjourney is the benchmark and we won't pretend otherwise. Krumzi optimizes for something different: the whole post looking professionally designed, with imagery that serves the layout instead of being the entire output.

Different things. Midjourney animates a still into short clips. Krumzi has a full video editor: timeline, scenes, animations, auto-captions in 10 languages, exports up to 4K. If you're making social video posts, that's the toolset you need.

Yes, on every plan. There's no public gallery and no paid privacy tier. Your designs belong to you.

There's no permanent free plan, and unlike Midjourney there is a real trial: 7 days of full access, card upfront, no charge until day 8, cancel in one click. Paid plans start at $19 a month.
